Ala haircut. . .

DEEP THOUGHTS BY COLETTE: Nicole and I decided we needed a new coif. Yes, we were bored and tired of our old hairdo's. Nicole had seen "the cutest Haircut" on this girl at her work and got all her info and we went tonight. We just told the girl to "do whatever she thinks."

Nicole looks absolutely adorable. Added some layers, etc. She looks really upbeat and stylish. I, on the other hand, realized that you can have the cutest hairdo in the world but dang, if you don't have the cutest face & shape to begin with, no hairdo is going to magically transform you. The hairdresser said, "now you look like a sassy old grandma." I went, ohhhhh cool. . . I guess. Then later she said, "now you don't look like you just have this big hair--is that what you used to think about her Nicole--chuckle, chuckle?" Nicole in all her wisdom chuckled back and said, "oh, I love your new hairdo Mom, it is sooo cute."

Even though everyone says it is so cute, I sort of feel like I am wearing a helmet on my head. I guess I was used to the "big hair." I realize I LIKE BIG HAIR. So, as I sit here pondering the "new do," I'm thinking, "wow, I really looked disgusting before" and "I'll never be able to do it myself!!!" I guess I'll just enjoy this moment as the "sassy old grandma who lost the big hair." (Sorry, no pictures to illustrate--I think you know why)

Annalise Super Star

Here is a little taste of Annalise at the last recital/music performance. Unfortunately, Julia was behind another little girl and so I wasn't able to get her in many of the pictures. So, for this video clip, enjoy little Annalise. She's quite the hoot!!!!!

Prom/Grad Night for Nicole & Danielle

Graduation wouldn't be complete without Prom/Grad night. Danielle is seen here with Gary as her date and Nicole with Tyler. They both had a great time!!!! And yes, I cried when they all left that night too! (I'm afraid I might be painting a picture here). Even Lilly got into the act when she came out with an empty bag of M&M's. I might add, the bag wasn't empty before she snatched it. So. . . it would appear that ALL celebrated in their own way that night!

GRADUATIONS IN 2007

Well, 2007 was quite the year for graduations!!!! As you can see, Nicole graduated from Mountain View, Sunny graduated from the College of Nevada and Jacob graduated from the University of Las Vegas. All of them graduated with honors. As it is one of the most proud moments of a mom's life to watch those she loves graduate after all the hard work and years that lead up to it, it is also bittersweet as she realizes that her family is growing up and moving on in life. I have to admit that I have shed a few tears this past month watching "my babies" move on to that next step. But I wouldn't have it any other way!!!! Nicole is going to continue on at Arizona State University with a full tuition waiver and scholarship from the Mana club. Jacob is now in Flagstaff pursuing his degree in Physical Therapy at Northern Arizona University, and Sunny is now a full fledged Sonogram technician working at the hospital in Flagstaff enjoying the job she has always wanted & dreamed of having. CONGRATS & Carpe Diem my little graduates . . . I LOVE YOU ALL!!!!
